Closing Worship: Maximizing the Moment.

What is the purpose of worship in your meetings?
Do you delegate transition & closing worship to team members?
Do you want to avoid suddenly ending worship and moving into announcements or some other part of the meeting?

I have been closing worship for many years, doing what I knew to do and learning lessons as I watched Bill Johnson and others close as well. One day I was speaking at a conference in another city and the worship leader asked me to close worship and then preach. I was surprised as she told me that she has her team watch me close worship, and so this project was birthed. My desire was to create a teaching and tool that could help all who get this opportunity to close worship. I am incredibly grateful to the worship leaders who helped and encouraged me along the way.
For some you may never have thought of the importance of this moment in a service, and for others you will just enjoy watching and being affirmed in what you already do. I have learned that if my moment in a meeting is to close worship and that is ‘all that I do’ I will always count it as one of life’s greatest privileges-as I maximize a moment when there is a corporate awareness of the presence of God and the presence of the people. It is so precious, and my desire is that none of us waste, miss or devalue this moment with which we are honored to steward.
There are over 120 minutes of interviews with worship leaders and video clips of examples of closing worship.
This is a unique training resource
I invite you to start with the introduction and interview with Brian & Jenn Johnson and then watch the other clips and discussions in your own time. You may also want to gather the team of those who serve in this way and watch it together and discuss your application of it afterwards.

This course may also be available as a part of our subscriptions. Please check the List.

“Closing worship is one of my favorite things to do
in any meeting, how ever large, how ever small.
Maximising a moment when anything is possible.”
